In Inflammatory Bowel Disease or IBD, there is persistent inflammation in the gastrointestinal tract. We provide various in vitro models aimed at mimicking the intestinal barrier for pharmaceutical screening. We comprehensively explain how the human intestine works, by using conventional 2D synthetic and cell-based systems, 3D models replicating the main features of the intestinal architecture, and, micro-physiological systems (MPSs) reproducing the dynamic stimuli to which cells are exposed in the native microenvironment. The most common types of IBD are Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. We at stellixir provide a comprehensive range of services and models for drug discoveries.
Techniques Used: Flow Cytometry, Confocal/Fluorescence Microscopy (Multi-colour Immunofluorescence), ELISA (Fluorimetry/Colorimetry), RTqPCR, WB.
